In a bid to pay back to the cradle of their education and being part of the government to support the free quality school education program in the country.
The Koeyor family union a charitable non Political organization has donated learning materials to at least eighteen (18) pupils who took the First, second and third positions in the last academic year at the KDEC Primary school, Koeyor in Koidu City, Kono District.
According to the financial Secretary of the aforesaid union Kai Kapor, the union was established six months ago with the motive of paying back to the school which is the cradle of their education and to as well motivate their brothers and sisters in order to pay attention to their education.
He said also to give more scope to the teachers to continue their good work by giving the necessary knowledge to the children which will enable them to occupy prominent positions in the future, whiles adding that the Koeyor family union was not only established to render support to their aschool, but to as well benefit the Koeyor Community thereby unifying the Koeyor children for the general developmental initiatives. When asked to know the source of funds used to undertake the project Kai Kopor intimated our reporter that, members of the Union from different works of life contributed little amount of money which allow them to undertake the 3.5 Million Leones project.
In his statement, the president of the above named organization T.J. Tongu said the KDEC Primary School Koeyor is their main target for now, noting plans are afoot to also render similar gesture to other schools in the district and the country by extension. The donation today at the KDEC Primary school Koeyor is a test case for the organization as this is the first project we have undertaken since the inception of the group some months ago” T.J. Tongu maintained.
The donated items according to the public relations office included 18 bags, pens, Pencils erasers, books among other learning materials.
On behalf of the school administration, Mr. Jabba one of the oldest teachers in the school who has taught for 36 years thanked the membership f of the Koeyor Family Union for their good gesture.
