30yrs-old Abdul Aziz Carew has on the 13th July, made his first appearance before magistrate Peter Gogra of Pademba road Magistrate court in Freetown. The accused is charged with counts of offences to wit wounding contrary to section 20 of the offence against the person Act 1861and assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to section 47 of the offence against the person Act 1861.
According to the charge sheet it was alleged that on the 6th July 2021 at Wilberforce Street the Western Area in Freetown maliciously wounded Josiah Amara and assaulted him in a manner thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
The charges were read to the accused person and he pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of ten million Leones or two surety in like sum the sureties must be gainfully employed and the said sureties should produce any form of identity card to be approved by the DAR.
DPC 18235 Kebbie K. Thoronka Prosecuting the matter adjourned to 3rd July 2021 while the accused person was unrepresented.
