Fatima Sesay, Alimammy Kamara, Sorie Sesay, Kadie Sesay, Saidu Kamara and five others made their first appearance before Magistrate Peter Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 on a private criminal sermons on six count charges to wit Wounding, Assault, Malicious damage, Public insult and provocation, Abusive language and threatening language.
According to the particulars of offence on the 10th October 2022 at Thompson Bay off Wilkinson road the western area in Freetown unlawfully wounded, physically Assault Gibrilla Dumbuya and Rose Keita; on count three the accused persons on the same date and place maliciously damage a concrete Pillar value five hundred thousand old Leones Property of the said complainant; on count four the accused person in the view of the public and in the presence of the complainant therein did publicly insult the Complainants with intent to provoke them to commit the breach of the peace; on count five the accused persons did use abusive languages against the complainant with intent to provoke them to commit the breach of the peace; on count six the second accused person Alimammy Kamara in the view of the public in the presence of the complainant made use of threatening words to wit:”ar go mus kill una” with intent to provoke them to commit the breach of the peace.
The charges were read and explained to the accused person and they pleaded not guilty on all counts charged.
Counsel representing the accused persons Ibrahim Sorie Y Kamara applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused persons that they’re Sierra Leonean resident within this jurisdiction that they will not interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses they are not a flight risk nor will they jumped bail they have credible sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognizance on their behalf.
Magistrate Gogra granted bail to all accused persons in the sum of ten million Leones with two sureties each in like sum sureties to be resident within this jurisdiction sureties to produce valid identity card depicting his or her address in Freetown one surety to be employed bail to be approved by the Bench.
Matter was adjourned to the 17th January 2023.
