Justice Komba Kamanda JA has sentence Samuel Lewis alias Beno to 7 years imprisonment after been found guilty of the offence charged. The accused persons Samuel Lewis and Amara Kamara were charged on two counts of conspiracy contrary to law and Burglary contrary to Section 25 (1) and Larceny Contrary to 13 (a) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the charge sheet it was alleged on count one that both accused Samuel Lewis alias Beno and Amara Kamara on the 3rd December, 2015, in Freetown, conspired together and with other person’s unknown to commit a felony to wit burglary and larceny.
On Count 2 states that both accused on the same date and place did break and enter the dwelling house of Baimba Moiforay alias LAC who is also in jail with intent to steal therein and did steal one West Point Air Conditioner value fifteen million Leones, one Akai Bed Room Fridge value one million three hundred thousand Leones and one Samsonet box value two hundred and fifty thousand Leones, property of LAC.
Reading the judgment in Court, Justice Komba Kamanda said the first accused is guilty of the offence, and he should serve 7 yrs imprisonment. The second accused since granted bail, jumped bail. The first accused was represented by H. Momoh Esq. from Legal Aid, and the matter was prosecuted by Yusuf Isaac Sesay from the Law Officers Department.
