In a bid to propel Sierra Leone’s national development agenda forward, President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, accompanied by his wife, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, led a delegation from Sierra Leone in a pivotal meeting with the Leone Rock Metal Group in China. This significant encounter, which transpired on February 29th, 2024, underscores a concerted effort to fortify collaborative ventures between Sierra Leone and Leone Rock Metal Group, a prominent subsidiary operating under the Kingho Group in China.
The meeting commenced with customary opening protocols, with Leone Rock Metal Group extending a gracious welcome to the Sierra Leone delegation, expressing delight at hosting His Excellency and the First Lady during their official state visit. In a reciprocal gesture, the Sierra Leone delegation conveyed their appreciation, thereby initiating substantive discussions.
Central to the deliberations was a comprehensive presentation delivered by a representative of Leone Rock Metal Group’s Chief Technical Officer (CTO), delineating the ongoing and prospective projects the group endeavors to undertake in Sierra Leone.
Mr. Colin Ding, Chairman of Leone Rock Metal Group, in his remarks, acknowledged President Bio’s presence and elucidated the business landscape in Sierra Leone. He underscored the company’s unwavering commitment to aligning with President Bio’s visionary “Big 5” agenda, elucidating strategic plans aimed at actively contributing to the country’s developmental trajectory over the forthcoming years.
President Bio, in turn, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and acknowledged Sierra Leone’s keenness for fostering close collaboration with Leone Rock Metal Group. The meeting signifies a pivotal stride toward nurturing a substantive partnership geared towards advancing Sierra Leone’s developmental aspirations and the strategic imperatives of Leone Rock Metal Group.
